Dear Tim Cooke , One of the flaws in your theory is that there is a god. Man made god in a very early time of evolution to explain, what man could not yet explain. Oh the earth quakes ( must be a god), oh water falls from the sky ( must be a god) oh my wife bears a child without me laying with anyone ( shes a liar ).
When man was young these "gods" that man made, were fine to make us more comfortable with things we didnt understand, but as man evolved, science allowed us to explain all of these naturally occuring events. All religion is now is a way for power hungry people to sit back , peach a few common sense rules and collect a pay check.

Lol. This post comes up in the Google search 1st page for "Creation museum skeptic". Look at all the creationist trolls come out of their dark little caves and shed the blood. As I like to tell my girlfriend, who is a true believer in Christ. Following the young Earth Creationist is bad Christian Theology. Follow your teachings if you choose, and don't invite science in with attempts of doing poor science. After many discussions and with her church pastor to discuss exactly this, she came to the conclusion with her pastor onboard that creationism is truly poor dogma for good Christian theology. Basically on the premise that one can not go through research picking and choosing what to believe in science and disregarding some finds, but then readily accepting the practical application what is ignored or not believed in its practical application. I was really surprised at the honest and deep conversation. However I believe that the fire between critical thinkers and believers is stoked by Evagelist's trying to start a fight over what amounts to a real non argument and discussion that does not really need to happen.

"That museum is science fiction...as for modern examples of macro evolution, give it a couple million years, eh?"

If it's the process that drives all life, why do we have to wait ANOTHER couple million years to see it? Maybe because we can't see it hapening now. Like Richard Dawkins said: "we have observed evolution; we just haven't observed it while it's happening." And you don't believe in ancient mythology...riiight.
Funny how science was originally founded on the principle belief that the universe operates by constant laws becuase there is a constant Law-Giver, and now you're called "unscientific" if you try to uphold that...

As for the physical vs metaphysical (Sigmar), just like anything in this world, if it's designed, it will carry the fingerprint of the designer. And if God created science (knowledge) and laws, then they should have His fingerprints and point back to Him. All scientists do science with a basic faith in something. They're not mutually exclusive; they work together.

Lee Schaut - scales falling from your eyes is a recognised English idiom.

Briana - go there and ENJOY!

briana dear,

that museum is science fiction..

and we skeptics are not anti-Christian. we are pro-science and not easy believers of ancient mythology.

as for modern examples of macro evolution, give it a couple million years, eh? Hope you have a good battery for the camera, and you are still around to watch. do your homework before you toss around big words.

P.S.

I'm in no way supporting the idiocy of the Christian creationists. They, like those who cling absolutely to science need to wake up and understand their place. Science = Physical while Spiritual/Religion = Metaphysical. Keep to your places and understand you can't explain one with the other.

Honestly, I can't help but get the anti-Christian/religious vibe from the Skeptics. And I'm not a Christian! They keep trying to push Evolution down everyone's throats, but they don't have any modern examples of macro-evolution? I would LOVE to see such evidence. Until that evidence is presented, I believe the fallacies of Theory Influences Observations and Equipment Constructs Results comes to mind.

"I pray the Lord will remove the scales from your eyes that you will come to know the truth, and truly be set free."

Thomas, surely if the author has scales on his eyes he must be some new KIND of human species not around for the boat ride. You just made me a believer of Darwin.

Cheers!

The "best" statement you made, which makes all the rest so much less than reality is "me and my twisted ilk."
