About me:

About Skeptic magazine

Skeptic magazine is published by the Skeptics Society, a non-profit scientific and educational organization that advocates for science literacy and probes controversial ideas and extraordinary claims. Our mission is to serve as an educational tool for those seeking clarification on those controversial claims.

Under the direction of author and Scientific American columnist Dr. Michael Shermer, the Society engages in scientific investigation, historical sleuthing, and journalistic research to investigate claims in the realms of the pseudoscience, fringe science, bad science, good science, the paranormal, and all points between.

At skeptic.com, you can check out our lectures & events, browse magazine tables of contents and read free articles, read eSkeptic, discuss topics in the Skeptic Forum, and order books and DVDs in Shop Skeptic.

Junior Skeptic

Bound into every issue of Skeptic, Junior Skeptic magazine is an engagingly illustrated science and critical thinking publication for younger readers. Written for both the young and the young at heart, each issue invites readers to consider in depth the background, concepts, and arguments surrounding a major paranormal claim (such as the Bermuda Triangle, or Bigfoot). With Junior Skeptic, young readers are finally able to consider these controversies with all the facts in front of them — simple, bottom-line, and jargon-free. Be sure to check out the Junior Skeptic page on Facebook!
