Skeptic: Promoting Science and Critical Thinking

top navigation:

COME JOIN THE SKEPTICS SOCIETY for a fun day at the ocean! Leaving from Pasadena at 8 am, we will ride the bus down to San Pedro and embark on a morning whale watching cruise on a boat reserved only for our group. (While seeing whales is likely, it can not be guaranteed, but there will be plenty of other marine life to be seen as well.) In the afternoon you’ll tour the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and enjoy a marine biology lecture with special emphasis on tide pools.

We have coordinated this event to coincide with one of the lowest tides of the year so we will finish the day by exploring the tide pools nearby. We will visit some of the geologic highlights of the Palos Verdes Peninsula (including Portuguese Bend Landslide).

What’s Included?

Tour fee includes lunch, bus transportation, whale watching cruise, all admissions, guidebook, and a tax-deductible contribution to the Skeptics Society. Seats are limited to just 50 on the cruise boat, so hurry before the trip sells out! We recommend phoning the office with a credit card at 1-626-794-3119 to secure your spot. Don’t forget to mail or fax your legal forms to complete your registration.
