About the Hosts of Skepticality

Derek Colanduno

Derek Colanduno

Derek Colanduno grew up in Las Vegas. (That explains just about everything. Too close to Area 51 and nothing he could do about it.)

In 2005, Derek suffered a serious brain injury. He recovered to resume his role as co-host of Skepticality. He is Co-Director of Skeptrack, a four-day skeptics conference within Dragon*Con (among the world’s largest science fiction and fantasy conventions, held in Atlanta, Georgia every Labor Day weekend).

Swoopy

Swoopy

After Derek’s brain injury in 2005, Swoopy became a one woman podcasting machine. She is the primary writer, researcher, and post-production editor for the program.

With Derek, Swoopy is the Co-Director of Skeptrack, a four-day skeptics conference within Dragon*Con. She is also the Director of Dragon*Con’s podcasting track, Podcasting: Now and Beyond.
