Sail Costa Rica & Panama

Sail Costa Rica and Panama aboard one of the world’s most extraordinary cruise ships: the Sea Cloud Spirit.

Green-winged Macaw Ara, Costa Rica

We are delighted to invite you to join fellow curious travelers and Professor Miro Kummel from Colorado College on an unforgettable voyage along the shores of Costa Rica and Panama in March 2027. As a Professor of Environmental Studies and Science and a specialist in environmental change in Central America, Professor Kummel’s involvement will offer invaluable perspective throughout our journey, illuminating the complex ecosystems, conservation efforts, and evolving landscapes we’ll encounter and deepening our understanding of this remarkable region.

Squirrel monkeys, Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica

From the vibrant capital of San José to the lush reaches of the Osa Peninsula, our itinerary is shaped by the extraordinary biodiversity of Central America. In Carara National Park, walk beneath the rainforest canopy where scarlet macaws and sloths thrive in a rare ecological transition zone. In Manuel Antonio National Park, discover a remarkable conservation success story, where jungle trails lead to crescent beaches and wildlife flourishes both on land and in the surrounding seas. Crossing into Panama, we will transit the legendary Panama Canal, explore the idyllic Pearl Islands and visit the culturally rich San Blas Archipelago, home to the Indigenous Kuna people.

Panama Canal

Our journey is made all the more special aboard the elegant Sea Cloud Spirit. This magnificent three-masted sailing ship offers an intimate, private-yacht atmosphere for just 136 guests, and her gracious teak decks, sea-view dining, and serene spa and fitness spaces complement the timeless spectacle of sails unfurled by hand by the dedicated crew. Days at sea are a pleasure in themselves, filled with camaraderie, conversation, and the simple joy of watching the horizon unfold.

The rich marine life of the Caribbean

We hope you will join us for this spectacular journey through some of the most captivating natural and cultural landscapes in the Americas.
